Hey,
this is Jakob Greenfeld, author of the Business Brainstorms newsletter - every week I write this email to share the most interesting trends, frameworks, opportunities, and ideas with you.
Let's dive in!
💡 Opportunities
“Wanted: Pagespeed insights that doesn't crash the browser. What do people use for this?” - Tony Ennis
Niche versions of Google Glass are an interesting opportunity right now. Google just announced that they will discontinue Google Glass for enterprise. In related discussions quite a few people were asking for alternatives.
apprentice.io is one successful example. They’re 100% life sciences focused.
One guy looking for a specific niche version of Google Glass mentioned this: “my application is remote support of engineers /customers working in on our hardware microscopes (similar to an electron microscope)”.
“Fintech people, does this exist: accounts balances as a service? Any kind of software where you have money coming in/out (crowd investing, bill splitting, whatever). Holds the funds for each individual until they click "cash out" and sends funds to their bank. like a developer product/API that could easily integrate with anything.” - Tyler Tringas
“startup idea - curated version of Airbnb where you stay at founders’ homes and cowork with them in lieue of payment. A scaled version of ryanckulp.com/visit/” - Ryan Kulp
“I definitely think someone could expand to build a niche capterra or g2crowd specific to e-commerce apps… wonder if there’s enough demand/reward for something even more niche for just Shopify apps?” - John Speed
Interesting idea by Micheal Greenberg: 1. Offer a low-cost coaching productized service (e.g. like Jordan O’Connor’s Power Half Hour). 2.) Transcribe all recordings. 3.) Use it to train AI chatbot. 4.) Scale service using AI.
