Hey,

this is Jakob Greenfeld, author of the Business Brainstorms newsletter - every week I write this email to share the most interesting trends, frameworks, opportunities, and ideas with you.

Let's dive in!

💡 Opportunities

  • “Product/feature idea: Investor Relations as a Service for funded startups. Essentially an assistant that helps with writing monthly investor updates and is accountable for making sure they are sent out” - Harvey Multani

  • “Google Optimize is being deprecated (classic Google). When that happens it looks like over half a million websites are going to be without a solution that doesn’t cost $$$ enterprise money.” - Mike Taylor

  • “Here’s an idea: Typefully for TikTok. For those who are growing an audience on Twitter, Typefully is really great. It allows you to schedule

your tweets and threads in advance and Atomically post them for you at a specific times. Super useful and they charge like $100 a year.” - Ismael Diaby

  • “Why isn't there a Kickstarter for digital businesses? Crowdfunding ideas for software with special benefits based on backing level & if the product hits goal.” - Alex Lieberman

    • Note: Platforms like Republic are crowdfunding for equity. Kickstarter isn’t for equity. Hence there’s a much lower barrier.

    • Here’s one idea I would immediately back myself: A unified email inbox for teams web app that doesn’t suck. All I want is: 1) a simple way to add and share accounts 2) flexible rules to put emails into folders. I tried all the apps that are commonly recommended (Front, Missive, Spark) and none of them pass these two tests.

  • “We are organizing birthday drinks for my brother. No one uses Facebook anymore. People hate WhatsApp mass groups, it spams their personal WhatsApp.

Nothing centered around events that is still a social platform. Request for startups, let’s unbundle FB events!” - Harry Stebbings

🛠 Things Worth Checking Out:

  • SaaS Origin Stories Podcast. Deep conversations with founders as they share how they started their SaaS journeys. You’ll hear firsthand the do’s and don’ts of building and growing a SaaS company and inspirational stories to fuel your own SaaS adventures. Listen on Apple Podcasts or Spotify.

  • Sponsor Hawk. Struggling to fill your newsletter ad spots? Looking for fresh newsletters to sponsors? Let me help you. I’m directly connecting newsletters that have available ad spots with decision makers looking for newsletters to sponsor.

  • The No-Code MVP Bootcamp by 100DaysOfNoCode is a 30 day program for entrepreneurs, creators and doers who want to learn the fundamentals of no-code and rapidly test + launch their ideas.

📈 Trend Signals

  • Self-care refers to actions and practices individuals engage in to maintain and improve their physical, mental, and emotional health.

  • It has become a trending topic recently because of increased recognition of the importance of taking care of one's well-being, and the impact of stress, burnout, and pandemic-related events on mental health.

  • It’s a broad meta trend with tons of related emerging business opportunities: Virtual Therapy & Counseling, Wellness & Mindfulness Apps, Work-Life Balance Tools, Personalized Nutrition & Fitness, Mental Health Management Software, Corporate Wellness Programs, Sleep Technology, Virtual Group Therapy.

  • A knowledge manager is the person on a team responsible for overseeing and maintaining a company's knowledge base.

  • Seems like a pretty new job title that popped up two years ago and has now became somewhat established.

  • Revenue management software is a tool used by businesses to optimize pricing and inventory strategies to maximize revenue. It uses data analysis and algorithms to forecast demand and make informed decisions on pricing and availability.

  • The trend of using revenue management software is driven by the need for businesses to stay competitive in today's dynamic market, where prices and demand can change quickly. With the growing availability of data and technology, companies are able to make more informed and automated decisions to improve

Ship it or delete it. Seriously. Do yourself a favor and close that open loop. Open loops quietly running in the background of your mind are taking up a ton of mental bandwidth.

💸 Revenue Signals

  • SongFinch generated $36m last year. (“Our artist community will turn your stories and memories into a custom song for just $199.”)

  • Beehiiv just reached $100k MRR. (“The newsletter platform built for growth”)
